U16 Boys PL Wizards v Spartans Second Half

U16 Boys PL Wizards v Spartans

Week 4 - Under 12 Boys Game Report

The boys really stepped it up this week to take on an undermanned Logan Thunder side for a top of the table clash.

The boys played impressively on both ends of the floor to take victory 94 - 45.
Special mention this week goes to Liam for his defensive anticipation, and Sean for his never-give-up attitude.

Good work boys, keep it up!

Week 4 - Under 16 Boys Game Report

In week 4 the U16 boys came up against the Southern Districts Spartans. With 4 team undefeated atop the ladder the Spartans held the number one spot on points percentage ahead of the Brisbane Capitals, Ipswich Force and Wizards. The Wizards boys came out firing with nothing to lose against the league leaders with Jack Mackenzie showing the state team coaches in the crowd why he should be cemented in the State Team, with 15 first quarter points. At half time the Wizards led the Spartans 53-40. After the main break the wizards continued to extend their lead through major contributions from Mackenzie who finished with 40 points and 14 boards, Luke Pittle with a triple double including 26 points, and a great all round team effort to finish the game at 99-76.

With the Capitals defeating Ipswich by 3 only the Wizards and Capitals remain undefeated, and on a crash course to meet in week 5 at the sports centre to see who will hold bragging rights on top of the ladder.

Week 4 - Under 18 (2) Boys Game Report

The U18 Boys 2nd side went up against Redlands at Redland Bay at the weekend, unfortunately going down by around 8.

The boys played well at both ends of the floor with good defence contributing to fast breaks and strong offensive sets. The key factor to the game, which unfortunately went missing for them, was the ability to make their free throws. If half of the free throws that were taken were made, it very likely could have been a double-digit victory instead of a loss.

Two new players joined the team this week and played very well for their first game in a new team. Special mentions to Lachlan Christ for his post work as well as the Angeles brothers and Russell Miller for their defensive intensity.

Week 4 - Under 14 Boys Game Report

This round the Northside wizards face off against the Southwest Pirates. The pirates proved to be a very tough team with a combination of both height and speed on the court. The boys again put in 100% to get their 4th win of the season. Some noticeable performances came from Johan Milburn who played a great game defensively creating an opportunity to score with a game high of 16. Jariya who also provided some scoring off the bench with 14. Others include a great defensive effort from Lachlan Cash and Mitch Elliott who both added another five points each and putting the padlock on tough matchups. Great effort boys.

Week 4 - Under 12 Girls Game Report

The girls once again started off well but unfortunately the Spartans accuracy, discipline and fitness proved too strong beating us by 11 points.
We were unable to make baskets, made silly errors and struggled to play defence when it counted.

The girls have now put themselves under a lot of pressure with only 1 win and 3 loses so early in the season.
The next two games will now test them to see if they can bounce back and play at their best.

I think the girls under estimate themselves and their capabilities. I believe in them, the parents do and the Club does.
Once the 10 players see this there will be not stopping them.

Off the bench Jordana Morrison (with a broken finger) and Loren Ellis stepped up and assisted the team in providing some pressure to keep the score as close as possible.

Back to the drawing board this week with some basic drills ready for Saturdays game against Brisbane.
